The verdict
Two premium Amex cards with opposite theories of value. The Scotia buys simplicity — flat 2x everywhere, no FX fees, ten lounge visits — but Scene+ caps at 1¢ a point; the Amex Platinum costs twice as much and pays it back in transferable points, unlimited lounge access, and credits. Optimizers take the Platinum; people who want premium perks without homework take the Scotia.
